While there's many unlikable aspects of the winter, one we appreciate is the outfits the cold forces us to create. Layering creates dimension and allows for a mix of materials and colours. 

The lightweight vest is one we'd like to bring attention to. On its own, this piece has an eye-catching element with quilted detailing. Diamond patterns add a bit more sophistication while stripes are more common. An overall more casual piece, use it to dress down a formal look, such as under your blazer. 

The vest adds a layer of warmth without a fussy fit due to the sleeveless feature. When layering under a coat, the sleeves tend to first be the tightest. This also allows for an open front look, which is clean and stylish.  Try also layering over a jacket for a modern twist. The nylon material of most quilted vests will contrast leather jackets and wool coats. The subtle peek of the mix of materials is a highly modern touch. There can also be a play on colour - imagine a camel peacoat over a navy vest.

Whether on it’s own or layered, the lightweight vest is a practical and stylish piece for your winter wardrobe.
