Layering with Denim

While denim jeans are iconic for casualwear, in recent years we have seen the rise of the denim shirt and jacket dressing down an outfit for a modern look. The denim jacket is often only associated with spring and summer for it’s lightweight construction. However, when layered properly, it can add a fresh element to your winter look.

We often layer a blazer jacket under a peacoat for added warmth, but it results in an overtly sophisticated look. Trade the blazer out for a denim jacket to create a casually cool effect.

A denim jacket also pairs very well with a winter vest, like this Belstaff Waistcoat Quilted or this Nobis Ricky Bobby. The lighter construction will not generate more heat for your chest, but will add warmth to your arms. The contrasting denim sleeves will also reinforce the laidback look of the vest.
